In the past, Nicole C. Mullen starred in her first short film as director. Together, they co-wrote music for the film. Gifford is a patron of many child's organisations including Childhelp. She also supports The Association to Benefit Children, which was the genesis of Cassidy's place. She is a humanitarian and was given an honorary diploma from Marymount University in recognition of her efforts in labor relations.
